Recently, an innovative insulator cleaning operation was successfully completed on a 220kV high-voltage power line. This operation utilized the MYUAV M400X dual-tethered cleaning drone system, successfully addressing the challenges of equipment maintenance in a high-voltage, complex electromagnetic environment.

Insulators, exposed to the elements for extended periods, are prone to accumulating dust and dirt, affecting power grid safety. Traditional manual cleaning requires power outages, resulting in low efficiency, high risk, and extremely high economic costs. In this operation, the M400X drone demonstrated its unique advantages: stable flight operation in the complex electromagnetic environment surrounding high-voltage lines; continuous water supply from the ground and power supply via the tethered system enabled long-term, large-area continuous cleaning operations; and its water jet possesses a maximum impact force of 160 bar, effectively removing stubborn dirt from the insulator surface.

This successful cleaning of the 220kV live-line insulators represents a significant step forward in the application of MYUAV drone technology in the field of specialized power operations. This solution not only avoids the economic losses caused by power outages, but also significantly reduces the risks of manual operations in high-altitude and high-voltage environments, providing a new and reliable option for the intelligent and efficient maintenance of power facilities.
